Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on September 10, 2026, issued Addendum to UPI OC 227 – “МyUPI" - Al powered support for UPI payments (UPI HELP 2.0).

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has enhanced the UPI HELP platform, introduced through its earlier circular dated October 8, 2025, and renamed the enhanced platform as “MyUPI.” MyUPI is an AI-powered, multilingual support platform enabling UPI members and application providers to facilitate transaction status enquiries, complaint lodging and tracking, UPI mandate management and user controls.

The enhanced MyUPI introduces Transaction Replay, allowing users to re-initiate past UPI transactions through secure redirection to the relevant UPI application; Payee-Context Based Information, enabling enquiries using a UPI ID, QR code or mobile number without disclosing PII; and User Controls, including a UPI Safety Switch to decline eligible UPI debit transactions and UPI ID Mapper De-linking to prevent receipt of inward payments using the user's mobile number as beneficiary identifier. Banks must provide at least one offline and one online/IVR/call-centre channel for users seeking to resume UPI debit transactions.

MyUPI also introduces Automated Chargeback Processing, under which eligible merchant and pending-transaction complaints may, in predefined scenarios, be automatically converted into chargebacks based on transaction and complaint data, with structured information provided to the beneficiary/payee PSP for human decision-making. MyUPI may be accessed through UPI applications, member customer-interface channels, NPCI channels, DigiSaathi and other enabled channels. Members and UPI application providers must ensure that data and outputs made available through MyUPI are used only for the specific intended functionality/use-case and are not repurposed, commercialized, disclosed or otherwise exploited for other purposes.
